Hi,
I have started getting error 408 as of today and I can't sign in to the windows app from work.
I am not signing in from another country like the app thinks.
How can I fix it?
It sounds like your work network could be using a VPN. What geolocation is reported if you go to this web site?
It says UK but I work from Ireland.
The thing is it has worked just fine until recently and the location always came up as UK, so it is obviously something that's happened on Spotify's side.
You can use free spotify "abroad" for 14 days. Can you change your country to UK from your account profile? You may need to remove any historic payment method from this page first and log out and back in.
The thing is, it has worked for more than 14 days with no issue and I am not actually abroad.
It doesn't let me change the country from Ireland.
If your ip location is seen as UK, then that's where spotify thinks you are. Your physical location is irrelevant. The discrepancy could be because inaccurate data is recorded for the IP range (not a spotify issue) or that your connection is through a VPN or proxy server which returns a UK address.
Did you follow my instructions, including removing any payment methods and logging out and back in?
I have opted for the 30 day premium trial so now it works. I will try that once that runs out. Thanks.
