FB email account already changed but Spotify insists that I change my email through FB

I am trying to update the email address on my Spotify account. When I try to do so, I'm told to go to FB and change my email account there. I have already updated my email address on FB but Spotify doesn't seem to recognize that fact and won't allow me to change my email address...it keeps telling me to change it on FB. How do I update my email address?

If your account was created with a facebook login, the email address shown in your account profile is taken from Facebook. There can be a delay of 24 hours before the new address is shown on Spotify.
