Hello and welcome to the Spotify Community!

Keep calm! The people you invite must be on free in order to upgrade them to family.

If it's not the problem, you should contact with Spotify Consumer Support filling this contact form, or tweeting to @SpotifyCares (ENG) or @SpotifyAyuda (ESP).

If you receive an automated email that leads you back to the community or help pages, reply to it (even if it's from "no-reply") and one of the Spotify team members will get back to you as soon as possible.

Don't forget to check your Spam Box 😉

Read the help guide for the family plan:

If you need help, contact support:

https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it.

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

Hi

I have premium, just signed up for Spotify family. I got an invite code for one of the users I added. What do i do with that. The instructions for this service are just terrible. Where do i go from here?

@stevek91411

Each family member has to have a separate username and password. So the first step is to create new accounts for each new member (if they haven't already).

I suggest creating it with an email address (not the one used for fb, if possible), since they'll be able to pick a Spotify username / password. Using Facebook will not let you do that, and that sometimes causes problems.

Each member will now have a Free account, so the next step is for them to join your Family plan through your account (You're the one who pays, so you'll be the Family Admin).

It's the Family Admin who sends the invites to the emails they used to create the new accounts. Let them accept the invite and you'll be set.
Each will be able to listen to music at the same time, and will have separate libraries, playlists and friends.

Why must they have 'free' accpunts? My fiance and I both have spotify premium accounts, and we're informed on the site that she could simply add on what me and save all her play lists.
Having them is part of her job as a gym trainer. What do we do?

Hi there. I'm having problem inviting my siblings to my spotify family account. Both the generated link and the email addresses to their fbs are not working to add them to my spotify family. I suspect this is because they signed up with Facebook initially and not with their email addresses. What is the solution to add family members who sign into their Spotify with their Facebook accounts? Please help.

Hi @Vimal90

Don't worry, our Accounts team can take a closer look at this. You can get in touch with them from any of our social media help sites: @SpotifyCares on Twitter and Spotify Cares on Facebook. Just send them a private message with your account's email address and the email addresses of the ones you'd like to invite to your plan.

You can also use our Contact Form to get email support.

Let me know if this helps!

Family subscription is a joke. I can't sign up my kids as they are underage and they are the ones who often listen whilst I am away from home.  Online chat help worse than unhelpful. Thank you Spotify....Perhaps I try your competitors as you try to go fleece the public equity markets that can't be cool if this is how you interact with your formerly  loyal customer base.

Hi. I've received an invite for Spotify for Family, but I can't get the "accept" button in the email to work, and the code I received doesn't get accepted in "redeem". What do I do?

Hey @cola_sylta,

Have you tried using different browsers in your computer? Make sure you're logged in your account. If it doesn't help, I suggest you get in touch with the Spotify Cares staff - They'll be happy to help you further with this.

There are a few ways to contact them. One is via Twitter - just send them a Direct Message @SpotifyCares.

Another great way is to use the Facebook support. Shoot them a message here: Spotify Cares. They generally reply very quickly.

If you don't want to use the social media channels, you can fill out the online contact form. Make sure to reply to the automated email you'll receive directing you back to the help pages, even if it's from a no-reply. Support usually gets back within a day or two.

Hey @princeszblue

Each family member has to have a separate username and password, so the first step is to create yourself a new account (if you haven't already).

I suggest creating it with an email address (not the one used for Facebook, if possible), since you'll be able to get a Spotify username / password. Using Facebook will not let you do that.

You'll now have a Free account, so the next step is to join your Family plan through your Admin's account (the one who pays is the Family Admin).

Tell him to send the invite to the email you used to create your account.

Accept the invite logged in with your own username in the app and in the website and you'll be set. Just be sure to type the address exactly as the Admin did when he created the Family Plan, and also be sure all Family members use the same Internet connection (Home network) regularly.

Hope it helps. 🙂
