Hacked by a previous user?

Hi! 

I tried to help my dad make his own spotify account, and I tried several times— I couldn’t log in through facebook or through email. And everytime I tried to sign up it said that the email had been taken. So I tried using the ‘forgot password’ feature and we got in.

However it seems somebody already used the email? There’s already a registered username, that we can’t edit. Nobody in our household knows of anybody who would use his email with that username. This user has also made use of the premium trial promo subscription so I wasn’t able to get my dad that as well. 

I just wanna make sure that the previous user wont be able to use the account from hereon, and that we’re able to change the username. Thanks!
