Hi folks...
For about a year my spotify has been infested with finnish music.
It has to stop!
So far i have traveled the great internet for answers.
Checked all the settings i can find. (Even on my facebook)
And yeah im pretty much at a loss here...
The example you see on the picture is one of the things i exsperience. Besides this
every 3rd song i hear is finnish
If this cant be fixed, i can't keep using spotify's service. Its really not cool.
The reason for the mixup may come from when i used my spotify in Findland a year ago.
Plz help!
Hey @Ninjafever, Welcome to the community! 🙂
This seems not nice!
Could I ask what language your Spotify is set to as well as your devices language?
Hello again
Most of my devices are in Danish. (As are the titles you can see on the picture besides the finnish one)
My destop has an english version of windows, yeat i don see how that can give me finnish recommendations.
My spotify is set up with me beeing from denmark
Hi i posted that a while ago but here is an UPDATE: For me the problem ended about a year later. Think spotify kinda sorted out that i in fact did not live in findland or understand the language.
Is this a Scandinavian problem? I'm from Sweden and i've had this problem for quite some time. Anyone have a solution?
Hey folks,
Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread.
We'd suggest that you turn off your Autoplay with the following steps:
Tap Home -> Settings Under Playback, scroll down to Autoplay and switch it off. This will stop any recommended songs from playing after your playlists and albums.
If you'd like to keep getting recommendations, a good way to improve them would be to check your Liked Songs to see If there are any songs in Finnish (or any other language you wouldn't want to hear) and remove them.
Using 'Skip' and 'Do not play' button consistently is a good idea as well, if you do that on a regular basis and you should get less Finnish recommendations with time.
Hope that helps.
This is not really a solution to the problem.
I have the exact same issue, though I live in Poland and use Spotify in English, so that's not only northern problem. I often travel to France, Switzerland and Italy, so sometimes I log on from these countries, but I have set a foot in Finland and never liked a single Finnish song, yet sometimes in my Discover Weekly playlist there are like 10 Finnish titles, not even matching the style of music I usually listen to. Most of the Finnish songs that creep in my Discover Weekly are punk songs.
This is beyond ridiculous, and is one thing (beyond recommending me certain songs over and over again even if I dislike them) that keeps me from using Discover Weekly and makes me consider to let Spotify go.
I'm plagued with finnish suggestions and my account is Swedish(country) and English (user interface). I left Spotify once because of the lack of help on this now back again since my spouse wants to use Spotify. But I think it's time to talk her into leaving and going back to tidal if this can't be changed.
