I can't create a new account with my email

Around 30 minutes ago, I tried to register a new account with my main email.  It said it was already in use, so I looked up my info and logged in.  I proceeded to change the email in my account details so that I could make a new account (with the email my old account was using before).  After my profile had been saved, I signed out on all devices and even restarted my devices.  I hit create new account and put in all the info I wanted, however, it says "that email is already taken," even though I just removed that email from the old account.
