I should be able to link my google account to my existing spotify account

I have an old spotify account that I signed up for with my gmail address.  I cannot log in using google with that same gmail address and there is no option to link them.  I would prefer to be able to log in with google rather than have to provide a password or 6 digit code sent to my gmail account.

Feature request:  please allow linking google accounts with the same email address to existing spotify accounts that were not created by signing up with google.
