If I delete account, which one cannot be used again, username or display na

During the account deletion process, there is a message that states 'username cannot be used again'.
I assumed that 'username' refers to the string provided by Spotify.
However, the account deletion process displays my display name as the username.
This inconsistency confuses me.
Therefore, I would like to clarify whether the username or display name cannot be reused.

The display names and usernames used to work together, but that has since changed and now Spotify usernames are generated at random, regardless of what your display name is. So, your display name and username are luckily the exact same - but they’re still different in terms of creating and deleting accounts. When you delete an account, you cannot use the same username again. However, you can use the same display name because that’s just how you want your name to be displayed for other users to see.

While they’re the same for you, they do serve different purposes - so to answer your question, you will not be able to use the same username (let’s say, for example, spotifyrocks) - but you can use your display name (spotifyrocks) again because that is purely just to represent yourself when others discover your profile.
