If my Spotify account is deleted will collaborative playlists I set up be deleted for everyone?

If I decide to delete my account permanently I know that my playlists will be deleted but what happens to collaborative playlists I created? Will my name still appear? Will people still have access to those playlists?

Hi @Georgio,

From what I understand, as it is a collaborative playlist, it is in the Spotify server - so as long as you have shared the link so that others can use and add to it, it should be fine.

What I would do just to be safe is for your friends to duplicate the playlist copy for themselves before you delete, just to be safe - but as it is stored in the Spotify server, it should be fine.

For the songs you've added, an icon will still appear - but instead of it being your profile picture, it will be the official user-removed image (which is a grey and white photo of a silhouette).

Interesting, I think that is the solution so, can I ask if the name still appears? I know you have already mentioned the image changes to user-removed image

Hi @Georgio1,

I know on the community help, the name will change to 'user-removed', and usually on your Spotify app profile thats what happens too. I would assume for the playlist (when names come up) that will come up like that as well.

Could someone of the spotify team answer this? Will collaborative playlists be deleted?

I've tested it and if I delete a playlist that I have created and then added others to collaborate, the playlist is no longer available to the collaborators.
