Invalid code for country

A good friend of mine from Saipan sent me 3 months of Spotify Premium as a Christmas gift, I'm from the Philippines and when I tried to redeem the code, it said that the code I've entered isn't valid for my country. Is there any way I can enable this or perhaps get a new one that works for my country? I do not want her hard-earned money to go to waste.

Hey @lancetirol,

Unfortunately not. Spotify gift cards can only be redeemed on Spotify accounts registered in the same country where they were purchased. They’re also not redeemable for Premium for Family, or in conjunction with other discounts and promotions, such as the student discount or trial offers.

What a bummer. Thanks so much man. Spotify emailed me and told me that my friend can ask for a refund so I guess that's something. Thanks again bro.
