Logon problems!

Hey,

 

So I having been trying for about an hour now to log onto my Spotify account but to absolutely no avail. I haven't used the account for years, and I think I made it before I made my Facebook, which could potentially be the reason for all this trouble? Who knows.

 

Anyway, I have another Spotify account (unbeknownst to me) through a different email address, and when I tried switching it over to my preferred email address--the one linked with my Facebook--it says another account is using that email. So I DEFINITELY have another account, yes? BUT, when I go to enter my username and password for that account, I get an error code 3 message (invalid username or password).

 

So then I tried logging on using my Facebook. I clicked the blue bottom that says plainly, "log in with facebook," and then a Chrome browser window automatically popped up. The page was white and it looked like it was about to load, but then it closed itself! Clicked on "Log in with Facebook" button again, but the same thing happened. I know I have this account linked with my Facebook because Spotify says I do, but I simply cannot get it to work. Getting increasingly frustrated over all this failing technology. 

 

If anyone has any solutions, please let me hear. A bunch of other people have posted on forums about similar problems, but none of the solutions work for me. It's NOT a question of using my username as opposed to my email address to log on. Neither works. 

 

If a Spotify administrator/tech guru can weigh in on this, I would much appreciate it. I really don't want to call the 1-800 Spotify number--if that even exists. Really don't want to do that. Hope this can be solved quickly.

Have you tried a password reset yet? That should give you access to your account again.

Yup, tried a password reset many times! It told me that I had to reset my Facebook password, which I did, but nothing changed!

That means your Spotify account was opened through a Facebook account assigned to that email.

 

Since you now have two accounts, fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you merge your Premium privileges (if you have them), library, playlists, friends, etc. to the account created with an email address. 🙂
