I am using the Desktop Application for Spotify.

My Question or Issue
I have noticed, that the sound quality of my Spotify has significantly decreased. The volume is lower then usual, there is way less bass, voices sound bad and weak, and everything else has also gotten worse.
I have tried updating different drivers, checked my settings and so on. But nothing works, not even after spending a long time looking through the internet for answers. Does anyone know if there are any fixes available?
Hey @MikkelAE,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you check the equalizer of the app to see if moving the sliders for the lower frequencies changes the bass levels?
Do you experience the described on the mobile app as well?
Keep us posted.
Cheers!
Hi, thank you for the answer,
I have in the past, already made a nice equalizer, that is still in use. And i am not sure if it happens on the mobile app, since i use very different headphones for PC and phone. I have also, tried the google web version of Spotify, but it sounds worse and just a little bit weird on there in my opinion.
And just an extra thing, it would be very nice, if you could save the Equalizers that you have made.
Hey @MikkelAE,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
As this appears to be happening on a single device, it could be related to some damaged cache it has stored. In this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article.
If the issue persists, would you mind confirming if using different headphones, or using speakers instead of the headphones makes any difference?
Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hi,
This seems to have helped somewhat so far. I have just re-installed Spotify, and i have just tried to set my settings back like before.
Some songs still sound a bit low in volume and in terms of bass, but the overall sound quality does seem to have been improved. It is also hard trying to get my equalizer back to how it was before, since you can't save them.
The version im on is Spotify Windows (64-bit) 1.2.17.834.g26ee1129
Hey @MikkelAE,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
We're glad to know that the issue improved after the reinstall process.
On the other hand, if you think other users will like a feature to save the equalizer as well, we'd recommend posting your suggestion on our idea exchange board so it can be voted on and reach the relevant teams.
We'd also recommend checking out our guidelines to avoid any rejections.
