Other Device keeps pausing my session

Solved!

Other Device keeps pausing my session

For some reason my sessions have kept getting interrupted. It's not the normal case where a different device shows up in the bottom right and tells the name of the phone/computer etc. Instead the banner up top displays the message "Spotify has been paused becasue your account is being used somewhere else" I have tried resetting my password a couple times, disconnecting from facebook but nothing seems to work I still get interrupted after a few minutes.

A side note is when I go to access the online version the default language was set to Malaysian English which was definitely odd, not sure how it relates but figured I would mention it. Thanks for your help!

Hey @rbegoon94, welcome to the Spotify Community!

There have been a couple reports recently of people's accounts being "hacked," or playing music on an unknown device, so I have a couple potential fixes for you to try:

1) On Spotify.com, go to your Account page and change your password. While some users have said that this hasn't fixed their problem, it has worked in other cases.

2) Also on your Account page there is an option that says "Sign Out Everywhere" which will disconnect you from all devices previously signed into. If you do this as well as change your password then the problem should disappear.

3) Another option is to go to the Apps tab on your Account page, here you can revoke permission from apps that want to access your Spotify account. If you see anything here that you don't trust, remove it from the list. I currently have 3 apps connected.

If you try all three of these options but your problem continues to occur, please let me know and I can try a few other things! Good luck 🙂

I am having the same problem, and did all that is suggested, and I thought it was fixed, but it just happened to me again. Capture2222.PNG

@jeanniereeves,

If none of my solutions were helpful, you should contact Spotify support to see what they can do. The easiest way to contact them is by messaging SpotifyCares on Facebook or Twitter. You can also use the online contact form on this website if you would prefer to communicate by email.

Happy listening 🙂
