I recently switched to an iPhone 7 and have had premium through my service provider (Sprint). When I logged back in my premium seems to be lost. Any thoughts or ideas. Is it a service provider problem or Spotify?

Hmmm.. since you mention that the issue happened when you logged back in, then it's possible that you've logged into the wrong (Free) account.

 

I'd suggest you to contact Spotify directly through their Contact form, so they can help you log in to your Premium account, and to provide you an advise if it's necessary for you to contact Sprint.
