Problem with password

Hey! I need to change my email adress as fast as possible. When i try to change it it says i need to write in my spotify password. Then it comes up that it dosnt match my password. Then i log in with the exactly the same password on my spotify and then it works. Then i go back to the profile site and try to change email again, with the same password who worked earlier, but it still dosnt work. WHY?

When you log in, are you using your Spotify username or email address?

The password you need to enter on your profile to change the email may be different, since email authentication will log you in using Facebook (linked to your Spotify account) but you need your Spotify password to make an email change.

It is hard to change you password when you need to confirm with it...

Okej, but why i need to change password is because i dont remember it. And when i click "forgotten password" it comes up i need to change it on my profile site.

You won't be able to get a reset either since it will email it to the old address which I assume you no longer have access to?

If that is the case, get in touch with the accounts guys here and they can lend a hand:

If you can access that email, you can log out and then request a password reset to be emailed to you.

yes i do have acces to the old email!:) but it dont work, i come back to the same site as always, where i need to confirm my change with the password i dont know.. haha

To get a password reset:
1. Go to https://www.spotify.com/password-reset/
2. If you get redirected to your online profile (where you need to current password to make the change), you are still logged into the website. Click on your name at the top and choose Log Out.
3. Return to https://www.spotify.com/password-reset/ and you should be able to request a reset.
