Something went wrong when adding new login method

I have been trying to add my google account as a new login method, but it keeps returning the error message "Something went wrong, please try again." I have tried doing the process with different accounts, different login methods, clearing cache, different wifi networks and on desktop and mobile separately.

Is the email address of your Spotify account the same as the one of your Google account that you're trying to link?

Does the new email address you add need to be different from the Google/Facebook account email that is already linked?
