Spotify App does'nt work anymore on Ipod Touch

Solved!

Spotify App does'nt work anymore on Ipod Touch

Hi,

The spotify app started crashing on my ipod Touch 1 or 2 weeks ago. Since then, each time I try to open it, the window gets white and stays as is until the opening cancels and brings me back to the home ipod page. I tryied re-installing the app several time but no changes occured.

Any idea about that ? I hope this is not an OS issue as the Ipod is not that old (5years). Everything works well on it except spotify, so I guess the issue is related to the app itself.

I usually use it in offline mode, and it had not been connected to internet for a long time when it happened, maybe there is a link there. Anyhow, everything seems to be up to date.

Truely hope you can help !

Thanks

Clément

There could be a number of things that are causing this problem.

1: To continue using offline mode, the app has to reconnect to the Internet every 30 days to make sure you are still a premium user. You said it has been quite a while since you last connected to the Internet.

2: Which iPod touch do you have, and what version of iOS do you have? Spotify only supports iOS 6, 7, and 8. You might have an older version of the app installed on your device that Spotify no longer supports.

If you are using iOS 6, you can see how to download Spotify for iOS 6 here:

Hi,

Thanks for answering. I'm using OS 5.1.1, i don't know the generation of the ipod, maybe 3 or 4, but the OS5 is the most recent I can get on it. So that means, that from one day to the others, my Ipod is obsolete ?

THANKS SPOTIFY !!!!!

F*** ! No need for an upgrade or wathever just give me back the version I had one month ago and that worked great !

How do I get money back from this now ?

I know you who read isn't responsible but I hope you can understand being f***** that way is not pleasant..

Any way I can get sponsored by spotify to get a new ipod ?

Or go back to deezer ?

It is likely that the old version of the app on your device continued to work, but that a recent change to Spotify's network caused the outdated app to no longer work. Spotify currently only supports iOS 6, 7, and 8.

I suggest you contact support if you want to talk to them about this:

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it.

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.
