Spotify Sample Rate

Hi, would anyone know what the sample rate and resolution is on the premium 320 kpbs spotify files. Is the resolution and sample rate 44.1 / 16bit or something higher than that? Any information would be appreciated.

I've heard  talks that a minority of the tracks are in 48k.

In that case it would also be interesting to know if Spotify has a sample rate converter since Windows (7 in my case) does it all wrong.
