i want to buy a one year premium subscription for my nephew for christmas. do i have to do it from his device? If so, can i do it from his phone?

You can do it from your own account, easiest thing to do is purchase an eCard which he can then redeem on his account. 😉

You can buy gift cards here 🙂 All you have to know is his email address, you don't have to buy it from his device 🙂

i saw that there were gift cards, but they were in set amount, none of which represented a year of spotify premium ( i think the highest amount was $60).  i could get 2 $60 cards, if that is the easiest.

The amounts seem to depend on region, here in the UK we can pay £120 for 12 months straight up!

It depends on what country your from, but it should say "12 Months" as one of the options. 🙂 If not, you probably need the two 6 month gift cards.

Spotify gift cards can only be redeemed in the same country as they were bought, sorry 😕 You can always send them money on paypal and they can pay for there subscription with that.
