I find spotify SO slow now to load with the constant updates which seems once a week and the poor quality sound reproduction from the music . I feel Spotify think most of the public will not notice as it is probably cheaper to have lower quality bit rate music.
Just to compound this now Spotify want to take our data which will only slow down the login in process even more. The GUI is not easy to navigate and I just feel that Spotify "have taken their eye off the ball" . I have been a member of Spotify for many years and I really wish to cancel my membership now !

Thanks for your reply. I am aware of the various quality streams Spotify exhibits (it is annoying that sometimes when one is forced to do an "update" they automatically reset to the lowest bit rate). Also it is dissapointing that not all tracks on Spotify are at 320kbps. To be honest I think Spotify is fantastic for discovering new music (when it finally loads). I have been using Qobuz for playing higher quality sounding music because I can hear the difference in music quality even for 320 kbps vs 256. I have a fast internet connection but it is interesting what you suggest about VPN though. Thank you.
Hi! I know you're frustated, but, there's a lot of things that might have slowed you down and made your music sound crappy. Did you go to preferences and selected high quality? Spotify streams 320kbps at high quality in OGG Vorbis Format and not MP3. And, do you have a fast internet connection? If yes, try VPNs that might Speed up your internet as it bypasses some things on the network that might slow you down. Hope this helps 🙂
Spotify updates every 2 weeks because they want the best experience as fast as possible as many people are hating the new versions and wanting the old versions back. So, Spotify is doing their best to quickly put the features that were removed back to the new client and update every 2 weeks. About privacy, there are reasons for that and the CEO already explained it in a blog https://news.spotify.com/us/2015/08/21/sorry-2/ .

Thanks for your reply again. I was aware of the CEO explanation but this may still not address the slow load times of the Spotify sofware. Load times are getting slower and slower and I feel additional access to our data (whether used or not) will make the sofware loading times seem longer and longer.
