My Question or Issue

My Spotify have not been working for almost a month now, at first it was on/off, now it’s just not working at all.

It won’t let me play songs, and if it does, it only plays for like 10 seconds. It doesn’t show what song is playing on the “bottom bar” and sometimes it shows a different song than the one that is playing.  I can’t search up anything, it just loads and pops up with the “something went wrong”. It won’t load my playlists. It acts like I have no internet, but I HAVE internet, and it doesn’t work no matter where I am (plus it has worked on/off).

I tried deleting the app completely (also deleted via settings - storage). I tried turning off my phone, I tried updating it - also my Spotify is updated.
I tried logging out, and at first it wouldn’t let me log in again, but I fixed that, BUT it still won’t work.

It doesn’t work on my computer, but it’s old and not updated, so i kinda expected that would happen soon. However it stopped working on/off at the same time on both devices.

I’m kinda out of ideas:((

Thanks for posting and kudos for the troubleshooting you've already done!

 

Since the issue you've described can be caused by a few different things, let’s run through some quick checks to narrow it down:

  • Make sure you're logged in the correct account. You can double-check your account and plan details here to see if they're correct
  • Try switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data
  • Make sure Offline Mode is turned off
  • Log in your account on a friend or relative's phone. This will help determine if this is account- or device-related

So I tried switching to mobile data, and now it works.

I shared my internet connection via my phone to my Macbook and Spotify works on my computer now (not with Wi-fi tho).

I don’t understand why tho? I have not changed anything about my Wi-fi at home - neither my router or service. Also am I supposed to just use my mobile data anytime I wanna listen to music or?://
My Wi-fi works with everything else on both my phone, laptop, work laptop and desktop computer. 
Spotify is the only thing that is not working.

Also my Offline Mode is turned off and I’m logged into the right account:)

Happy to hear we've made some progress. If the issue only occurs on your Wi-Fi network, then something from it must be causing the issue. Consider restarting your router and checking the firewall settings to ensure Spotify is allowed through.
