I posted a question on another section of the Spotify Community forum. I got an email a few minutes later saying I had received a private message. I went to the site and clicked on the Community section, expecting to have an alert or something that would lead me to the message. Nothing. I checked the post itself, thinking maybe it meant a reply instead of private message. Nothing.
In fact, I can't find any reference to private messages ANYWHERE on the site. Am I being incredibly obtuse? What's going on here? If you know the answer and send it to me in private message, I pre-emptively hate you.

I just had this problem myself, and like the other commentors I did not have an envelope icon where there should have been one.
The part of the solution that was missing is:
If you can't see the envelope, log out and then log back in. It should be there when you get back.

Re-logging in solved the problem for me, so I was hoping it would help others too 🙂

When this thread was made, PM's were disabled for normal users - they have been enabled now 🙂
I am new and I am having the same problem. I don't even need to post a queston, I just keep getting notificationmI have a private message andwhen Im goto my messages there isn't anything posted to me, .....or is this a trickm to draw us to community because we are missed and loved??????

The private messages you are receiving are (in most cases) just notifications that you climbed up a rank in the forum.
From "New Visitor" to "New Poster" to "Junior Poster" etc. That happens after you visit/post here automatically.
So nothing really exciting. 😉
However you should see those messages if you click on the little envelop in the top right corner under the Search button.
If you don't see anything, maybe a quick log out / log in helps.
I just recently joined the community to see if others were having the same issues as myself regarding the new update, and to find any solutions to go back to the old application. Shortly after, I received an email saying I had a "private message." I followed the instructions to click on the envelope under the search button, but I too do not have an envelope icon under the search button, or anywhere on the screen that I can see.
I am new to the forums and was hoping the message was addressing my complaints/offering solutions. Difficult to find out if I'm not even able to locate the "envelope icon!"

Hey! Welcome to the community 😄
As it outlines in the PM email, you need to make 1 post before it becomes visible.
Try logging out and back into the community now, you should see it in the top right of the community.

Ok, I got it working by loggin out and back in again.
One function that would be great is if you email a link to the PM with the mail notification.
