Unable to upgrade to Premium.

Unable to upgrade to Premium.

I have been trying to upgrade my Free account to premium for the past hour; and every time that I enter my card information and click on the Free Premium for 30 Day button I receive an error message that simply says "oops there appears to be a problem."  I looked at my account and it says that the card that I entered is on file now with Spotify, but I am still unable to use Premium.  The card has not been charged any amount that I can tell, nor is there a way to remove the card from my account that I can readily see.  I have used Spotify for a couple of years now, and am finally getting around to upgrading.  But I am getting the impression that Spotify wants me to continue listening to ads...  Basically, I would like to know why my card is now listed in my account, but I am unable to upgrade.  And I still want to upgrade, just don't like the idea of my card floating around doing nothing.

 

Yes, I am from the United States, as is my card; and it is also valid for several more years.

Sorry for the trouble! Spotify recently made some changes to the upgrade pages. Some users have ran into problems recently.

 

I suggest you contact support so they can take a look at your account and help you upgrade

From the first dropdown select "Paying for Spotify"

 

From the second dropdown select "Upgrading to premium or unlimited"

 

From the third dropdown select "I have questions about the payment method"

 

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it.

 

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.
