Unable to upgrade to family - payment provider is having a bad day

Unable to upgrade to family - payment provider is having a bad day

I'm unable to change from Premium to Family - getting 'payment provider is having a bad day'. Changing to PayPal, updating my card or adding a new card give the same error. What do I do?

It looks like you have to conntact spotify support. Your card/cards may be blocked or rejected by Spotify.

By the looks of things, you're not the only person having trouble today. I suggest giving it a bit of time. Most of the time these thing's iron themselves out. If after a while it hasn't changed please don't hesitate to write back!.

Thank you. Contacting support was the necessary step.

After the required runaround (try different browser, try different card, try canceling Premium) they ended up reverting me back to Free, refunding the last payment.

After entering the same card details again I now have Premium Family.
