hey,
so i upgraded my spotify from free to premium but they they are still showing and playing advertisements inbetween songs. that is quite annoying, how can i change that?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Have you tried logging out then back in again ?
The whole reason I upgraded was to get rid of verbal ads playing over the music, extra loud. Very annoying. It took me a while to find this set of messages (time consuming) and now I need to fill out a form?! Why do you tell us we won't have ads, and then we do and then we have to do work to get rid of them. Ahhh hemmmm, that is why we are paying you money....to deal with this stuff!
Hi steftar - Those two payments are both linked to your 'steftar' account.
But don't worry about having lost any payments. Our system has taken account of both payments and has extended your Premium subscription to two months. This means that you will not be charged again until 5 September.
Sorry guys, it looks like our servers were just being a bit slow in upgrading accounts to Premium. But they should be all better now.
If you're still having problems let us know. It would be helpful if you could also include a screenshot of your desktop client, so we can see the 'Spotify' bar along the top (which should of course say 'Spotify Premium')
Does the recipt show a username or a bunch of numbers? If it is a username then you use that to log in. If it is a bunch of numbers, then your account is linked to facebook so you should use the login with facebook button.
If you still can't get your premium to show, get in touch with the payment team and they'll get this fixed. If you get an automated response directing you back to the community or to the help pages, make sure to reply to it directly to speed things along.

I have the same problem! Very annoying...
Hi,
Same problem here. I tried:
Do you have another idea?
Yep--I've got an email on it's way to you now EvK.
If anyoneelese has this issue (after logging out and logging in) should fill out our contact form (about us > contact). We can then help from there.

Hi RobinRocksss- I've just had a look and your account has been properly upgraded.
Have you tried shutting down the app completely and then logging in and out with your Facebook email/ password?
Same problem for me. Upgraded to premium but the mac app is still telling me it was not upgraded. Relogin does not help. My iÖad and iPhone were accepting the account change and are both on premium. But still - the mac app is not.... can you help, please?
I have two S accounts, one free, and a new second one (wrongly created) where I paid for S premium. I need to cancel the first one so the premium's left. How can I do it?
chriskle- Well your Premium subscription has definitely gone through. The fact that you're receiving Premium on your iPod/ iPad is also a good sign.
The first thing I recommend is a clean reinstallation of the application on your Mac:
1. Quit Spotify
2. In the finder, locate and delete the following folders:
~/Library/Caches/com.spotify.Client
~/Library/Application Support/Spotify
3. Locate and delete the Spotify app (from the application folder)
4. Empty trash, then restart
5. Download and install Spotify latest version: https://www.spotify.com/download/
OSX LION users: Apple have masked the user "Library" folder to prevent accidental deletion. You can access it by choosing 'Go', from the top menu in the Finder. Hold down 'alt' key, and the library should appear as a folder you can now open.
montlhery- Yes it does seem you've two accounts with us. The good news is this can be sorted easily. You should have a message from me in your personal inbox any second now.
Meredith,
Thank you but - no - this did not help. I did exactly what you told me. Btw the folder "com.spotify.danstaller" was still there and I did not delete it.
Any other way?
Hi Chriskle- We might have to do a bit more maintenance behind the scenes here.
Keep your eye on your inbox for a message from me--thanks!
Got it. Thank you.
