Username became garbled after making account, but shows properly on support.spotify links

I made my account with the username Aezoph, but it changed itself to "ttfunol4800r47z18w57ctpgb" after activating premium. 

Any time I visit a support.spotify site, it shows the correct name but everywhere else its wrong.

Hey @Aezoph,

It looks like you were able to add a display name to your account when signing up. Your username on your user profile will still show as Aezoph, and any playlists made by you will show as made by Aezoph too.

So, my display name and username are two different things? Did I get auto assigned the messy username? I never inputed it. Now I have to log in with it. 

Am I able to delete this account and start over, or will the displayname Aezoph be taken?

That's correct, your display name and username are two different things.

Sure you can create another account and use that same display name, but your username will still consist of random letters and numbers 🙂
