If you are running Cyanogenmod on your phone, you can install Spotify and block specific access rights, such as Spotify wanting to look at your private pictures.
Its actually not too hard to install these days either, and the added layer of privacy is very much worth it.
I was thinking of sandboxing spotify as well, but just discovered an alternative music service that specifically says it won't give your information to others in their ToS.
There is a lot of apps that have more songs. For example Deezer. But their privacy policy is also allowing them to look at your pictures and contacts. Im still looking around to see whats out there.
I have read their privacy policy and it says nothing about that. On the contrary, it states that it won't sell info and won't collect info not related to Deezer.
