Why does spotify only work when it wants to?

I pay a subscription to stream music, but this happens all too often! When I use it on my phone, it will be working fine but then suddenly the music will stop and not come back on. Today has been especially bad, I've not been able to use it since about 11:30 this morning, still it isn't working. I've tried using the log out of all devices and logging back in on the app but with no success. I can see the music selected, but when I press play nothing happens. Any Ideas?

Could you let us know what device, operating system and Spotify vresion you're using? Also, did this started happening after a specific update or event?
