another person's Spotify plays on mine

another person's Spotify plays on mine

My ex and I both have our own Spotify accounts. The only way they were linked was through an Alexa show device, where we could each play our accounts on it. When we separated, I took the device and unregistered it from everything. However, if he plays his Spotify account, it interrupts my list and I can control the music from across town. How can we unlink these two accounts? It's maddening!

Hey!

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

You can disconnect your Spotify account from the Alexa device by unlinking them from your Account page. However, as the account that is playing on your device is not yours, the process needs to be done from the speaker or the alexa app. Try it with this steps:

1. Run Alexa App (linked to your amazon account).

2. Tap Settings

3. Under Account, tap the Music and media option.

4. Find and select the Spotify app

5. Tap the Unlink Spotify from Alexa link.

This should unlink all the Spotify accounts linked to the Amazon account and device. In case that the issue persists, it's better to get in touch with the Amazon support for further help.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
