not abroad but getting notification that I cannot log in - also changed I phone

Hello - I changed I Phone yesterday and cannot log in on my new phone , only on the internet. I get the notification that I can only use spotify abroad for 14 days. All my settings are set to my current country, and I have not been travelling recently. any chance someone can help me log in via I phone?

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out here for help!

I can see you have a Spotify standalone account. So if you log in using your username/password, you should be all set no matter what devices you are on. But if you're on the Free tier and use Spotify in a different country for 14 days, you need to change your country settings so you can use Spotify abroad longer than that.

Just follow these steps:

1. Log in to your account page at https://www.spotify.com/account/.
2. Click EDIT PROFILE.
3. Scroll down to Country and select your new country.
4. Click SAVE PROFILE.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help!

thanks mary - does not work though, the country is and was already set right- still cannot log with my i phone

Hey! Can you try to log in through the webplayer? Just click this link and press Already have an account? Log in here. and enter in your details.

This should refresh your account so you'll be able to log in with you iPhone after a few mins. Make sure you wait at least 5-10 mins before trying to log in to the app on your phone.

Let us know how this works out for you. Cheers!

thanks a lot
I changed my country to UK instead of france and it is now working
strange, because I do not live in the UK, nor have I been there recently

That's very strange indeed. Spotify detects your location based on your network settings and IP address.

Are you using a proxy, VPN, or private network that might prevent Spotify from knowing your current location?
