redeeming a gift card for student premium account

I received a gift card for $60 which covers student discount premiums for a year.  However, if I select student premium, the only methods of payment are credit card.  I can't use my gift card. And if I go to redeem my gift card, it only allows me to sign up for a 6mos subscription... it doesn't allow me to select student premium.  What do I do?

Unfortunately, gift cards are not affected by discounts or deals such as the student discount. What you can do is redeem the gift card for six months of Premium and then apply for the student discount after the gift card runs out.
