Album art remains on lock after close

After I close the spotify app the album art is still on my lock screen. I have to power off the phone to get rid of it. Is this ment to be like this? My phone is a nexis 5 with lollipop.

I have the exact same thing happening to me on my Nexus 5, which is also running Lollipop. I had the same problem prior to updating.
