[Android][Podcasts] Sort Podcasts by Release Date

Please let us sort podcasts on mobile by the most recent episode release! I had it on mobile before the last recent update and can't sort that way now. Thanks

Hey @Harry195 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

You should be able to sort podcast episodes by date via the three dot menu in the upper right corner of the app when you open the list with all episodes.

If that doesn't work as expected we recommend that you clean reinstall the app. This will remove any damaged files that might be causing issues.

If the problem persists, please attach a screenshot of what you see at your end when you open up the list of all episodes in a podcast. Make sure to also include the make, model, OS version and exact Spotify version on your device.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

I have the same issue. There's no option to sort any playlists (not just podcast-only but song-only too) by release date on the Mac app or Android app.

The only options are:

  • Custom order
  • Title
  • Artist
  • Album or podcast
  • Date added [to list]
  • Duration

It's pretty annoying to have to manually sort dozens of podcasts into order...

Hi @irny,

Thank you for posting on this thread and welcome to the Community!

At the moment, there isn't an existing filter to sort by release date inside playlists, this applies to both music tracks and podcast episodes.

However, you should be able to filter by release date after entering the profile of a podcast show with the steps shared by @Mihail

In this case, we suggest you take a look at this idea that asks for a filter to sort by release date inside playlists. Take into account that the "Closed" status doesn't mean the idea won't be implemented. If it reaches the necessary amount of votes, Spotify will consider it.

Let us know if you have any questions.
