My Question or Issue

Spotify for Android TV v 1.76.1 will show songs in a playlist (not even greyed out) that have been hidden from said playlist on my mobile phone (spotify v 8.8.82.634).  PC Spotify app (v 1.2.24.756.g7a7fc7f0) correctly shows the songs greyed out.

How do I determine if Spotify support is even seeing this?

Hey @_27_,

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community!

Hidden songs affect only the particular playlist/device.

However, it seems like the Community folks have already created an idea about synching “hide song” function across all devices. If you'd like to see that option available, we'd suggest that you check out this idea. Make sure you leave your vote to support it, so that it would have a better chance of being considered, as Spotify always strives to improve your experience.

If you're interested in how ideas work and how your feedback reaches the right teams here, check this page out.

Hope this helps. Take care 🙂

This isn't inherently true. I chose "dont play this artist" on my PC and it affects the same playlist on mobile, and vice versa. It just is not doing it on Android TV. Its been like this for two years.

Isn't there anything that can be done for this?

Hey @_27_,

Thanks for posting on the Community! Apologies for the late reply, as we just came across this thread again 🙂

We would like to inform you that there have been some recent updates to both features - Don't play this artist & Hide song. Any adjustments you've made should sync between devices. It's worth noting that the tracks you've hidden or artist you've marked as do not play, may still be visible on your TV, however, they should automatically be skipped during playback.

This means that you can Hide a track on the mobile app and it will no longer play on other devices as well (for example on the TV). Just keep in mind that Hidden tracks can still be played in other playlists/albums where you haven’t hidden them. Feel free to have a look at this page for more details on how the Hide feature works.

Should the hidden tracks or artist still play on the TV, it would be great if you could send us the following:

  • The make, model, and current software version of your TV.
  • Exact Spotify version.

This info will help us look into it further.

Hope this clears things up! Cheers.
