App forgets it is streaming to Chromecast/Google Home

My Question or Issue

When casting to Chromecast enabled speaker(s) and phone screen locks, after a few minutes the phone will forget that it is casting music. Music continues to play, however the doesn't seem to know it is playing until the Spotify app is opened and you wait a few seconds. This does not happen with other media apps like YouTube Music. This also makes you unable to skip songs or pause without opening the app when waking the phone.

If the Spotify app suddenly stops casting to your Chromecast speaker you might be experiencing an issue we're currently aware of. We suggest you go to this Ongoing Issue and add your vote to it by clicking on the +VOTE button. Make sure you follow the steps provided under Status Update as well.
