App hangs on login screen when SD card is inserted

When I try to login to spotify either using Facebook or username/password login on my Xperia Z3 (Lollipop) with an SD card inserted, the app hangs indefinitely. Sometimes it will pop up with 'Login Failed'. I have tried several 64gb SD cards, formatted them to FAT32, NTFS and their normal format: exFAT. I have re-installed the app several times, cleared the data and cache and deleted the com. paths in the internal device storage. I have also rebooted the phone several times.

If i close the app whilst it "attempts to login", take the SD card out, it will say "no SD card inserted" and close the app. If an SD card is inserted, it also sometimes goes to a blank black screen.

Any ideas?
