App is slow and unusable when online (but offline mode is fine)

When I put the app in offline mode it works nice and fast.

But when I have an internet connection the app is terrible - it takes 30 seconds+ just to open up a downloaded. album. I keep getting oops there's been a problem and searching is impossible as I just get an etrenal green circle loading.

Are spotify servers terrible or something?

Having the same issue on Moto G5, Android 8.1. The problem appeared a few weeks ago, tried to reinstall and clean cache partition, the app is still slow, but now I have no offline music and the app is too slow to download any, so it's completely unusable

UPDATE: Seems like the problem was a faulty sd card. A bit later, I couldnt even pick my sd card as storage. Tried everything, can't format it or put new data on it. It was probably dying and spotify was taking forever because of that. I have no issue on internal storage
