Artists tab doesn't load local files with no internet connection

My Question or Issue

If I have no internet connection and click `Your Library` -> `Artists` it will load for a while then display a button to add new artists (as it hasn't found any). It seems to be more likely to do this if I'm loading the page as I'm losing wifi connection and moving to mobile data connection, or if my connection is bad in general. 

After this happens I can't access any songs through the artist section until I reconnect to the internet. Instead I have to go through the `Albums` section which loads the local files correctly. 

This generally happens the first time I load the `Artists` section. After that it is cached (I believe) and I have no issues until later in the day when I use it again.

Thanks for searching for the answer you need here!

Keep in mind that the feature to import the metadata of local files so that they come up also under the Artists and Albums tabs is not officially supported. This means that issues with it are expected behavior. 

Since it did work for you however, it might be a good idea to perform a clean reinstall. If what you're experiencing is related to corrupted app files, this would rectify the situation.  You can find the necessary steps here.
