Audio Ducking Triggered Frequently

Ever since the most recent mobile update, there's a lot of actions that now trigger audio ducking on my phone. For instance: when Ambient Display is enabled, audio will fade out when the screen is turned on because of that feature; pressing the "multi-task," or square button, will cause it to fade out as if a notification were received; a few other events I can't think of right now.

Anyone else having this issue?

Using Nexus 6 with the latest Android software update, and latest Spotify application update. If needed I can provide debugging information or something to help clarify what's causing it.
