I have a HTC One and connect to my F30 (2012) iDrive. I have the Professional Media Center version and it streams perfectly fine over bluetooth with artist, track and album info showing on the display.

What's the issue you are having? I can try to replicate for you

I have a 2014 F30 and cannot stream Spotify or Tunein radio, music stored on the phone works fine. I do have control so I can move tracks forward and back from idrive but hear no audio...............

Is your F30 BMW equipped with Bluetooth Audio streaming capabilities? You need the option for spotify to stream via bluetooth. I also have a 2015 F30 and it works just fine...
