Cannot send message to or share music with another user

Solved!

Cannot send message to or share music with another user

Hello,

I'm using the Android app version 1.5.0.739 & my Android is 4.4.2.

Here is my problem: I try to send a music track on Spotify to another user. I "click" on the three dots beside the track's name and the "Share" > "Send to". I enter the user's username, my message... and the "Send" button won't activate; can't "click" on it.

Is this a known issue?

Thank you very much in advance,
Sam.

Hey what's up Spotify!

As a premium user for nearly two years now, it should absolutly be possible to share my playlists with my "Spotify-Friends" without having a facebook-account.

I don't need and i don't want such an account at facebook. And sure i'm not willing to create an facebook-account only for spotify.

fix this issue fast. You should be deeply ashamed for the long time you needed to fix this.

+1

I pay for it (premium family member). But I'm very annoyed!!!

It really IS ridiculous. Sharing IS crucial for a service like Spotify's.

Sorry I can't help you as I have discovered the same predicament. I note this thread is for Android, but I have just noticed the problem after a recent Spotify update on Windows 10 desktop.  Not very happy.  I am not a Facebook user.

+1 on the same issue here for PC. I am only provided options to share on social media and do not have access to my inbox using the desktop client.

You've got to be kidding, you're taking out an essential function of Spotify, especially for those who are paying for it. Why the **bleep** would I want to share it on Facebook.

Sending to friends has and should have nothing to do with sharing it on facebook as I don't see how facebook corelates to my actual friends that I'm intending to send a song to.

SPOTIFY!

Please listen to us users, we want this function back. If it ain't broke then don't "fix" it!

Spotify isn't Facebook (thank god) so give us a break and just let us use your app without this mess of social media interfereing. It could be simple.

So please respect us and make this simple and user friendly. My friends and I ENJOY sharing music with each other on YOUR platform - not facebook or twitter or pintrest or whatever, on YOUR platform. So why take that option away?

Tell us- WHY?

Unfathomable as to why you'd take this away - it was one of the main reasons I've become an active user and paid a premium for years .........

Come on, bring it back asap!

This has driven me mad for weeks. Why have the darn feature to taunt us if it doens't work? Lazy programmers it seems.

This is product management issue I'd imagine.  Must have something to do with license negotiation.  Greed is not always good.

How has this seriously not been addressed yet?

Product managment by committee.  Another black eye for capitalism.

I gather this problem is by design as a means to coerce paying customers into sharing private listening habits via Facebook.  Another dispicable corporate citizen.  I'm migrating toward Amazon and TuneIn.  Vote with your feet.

I get that Spotify wants to promote its platform on social media as much as possible, but forcing people to do this if they simply wish to share music with other Spotify users is not the way to go! I really hate it when companies force me to use social media just to use their app/platform. Fix this Spotify!

i am using the web player and im trying to text one of my friends so they can listen to the song im listening too

Just noticed this feature is gone now too! 😞 I want it back!

Yet another person who has absolutely no desire to use Facebook. At all. Ever.

But I do want to be able to share music and playlists with others. It is ridiculous that Spotify actually removed the ability to do this without going through another application.

Please restore this functionality.

This is an important feature for me as a musician.  I often share playlists and tracks with fellow musicians, and we promote each other's work.  Without the ability to even include a link to our music, it makes it difficult to point to specific playlists and tracks.
