I have the same issue, if if Spotify does not fin a solution, I'm considering the option to stop my premium ... which is less susefull without google chrome cast audio working ....

Just go to the support page on the Spotify website and login with your account. Than look for the contact form.
Fill in your name and question and then you will get a automatic respond. Just respond to this email and you will get a person. It took me 39 emails because everytime you get a different person that don't know what the guy before him sayed for some reason.( this was in 2016 )
In the progress you get a test account from Spotify.
create a free account with a different email than your normal account.
I created a new account with my old email and the problems where still there even with a new account so dont forget this.

I need some assistance with spotify on my chromecast audio. I have 2 chromecast audio devices and they both droput every few seconds when streaming spotify ONLY. Other apps work fine but soptify has become unuseable its that bad.
Please help asap

I'm having the same issue.
CCA/Spotify was working fine for at least 2 months, but about 2-3 weeks ago started giving a random <1s stutter every 1-2 songs. In the last few days it's become a >10s pause every single song (usually 2-3 times per song)! All other apps I've tried have casted without problems on the CCA. Spotify playing directly from my android phone and Macbook have no problems either.
So far things I've tried unsuccessfully:
Emptied cache
Reinstalled Spotify and Google Home apps
Checked and uncheck every CCA setting
Soft and hard reset CCA
Logged in with a different account
Changed wifi settings (reset router, given CCA priority, 2.4 and 5ghz both having good signal)
So, I've been a Spotify Premium subscriber for a few years now.
I thoroughly tested the Chromecast Audio integration about a year ago, and although there were a couple of small bugs, I was happy enough with it.
The latest update of the Spotify Android app seems to have completely destroyed CCA support. The problems I now have are:
- Often unable to connect. When I choose the device in the devices list, it just stays white - I don't even get the 'Connecting...' green text. This is remedied by force stopping the app.
- Unable to 'scrub' through songs. If I try and scrub through a song, I instantly lose connection from phone-CCA. The audio keeps playing, but I am no longer able to control the CCA. I have not found a solution to this yet.
This is really disappointing - ironically, Spotify has one of the worst CC integrations that I've seen, yet it's the app I want to use most regularly! If their goal is to trash the user opnion of CC, then they're doing a good job..... Come on Product Management, please put the hours in and get this fixed!

Spotify is the only app cumulating such a number of bugs with ChromeCast !!
Everything has already been said : huge lag freeze , loses connection, weird playing of my playlist : only plays 10-15 songs of my 250+ songs playlist...whether randomly option is checked or not... it will plays the same **bleep** 10-15 songs !!!
Even Casting my phone via native Android app and then playing Spotify works much better ...
And i'm Premium ... (For how much longer..?)
Spotify obviously doesn't give a sh*t. I had them on the chat about this 2 weeks ago, and they said they would have someone get back to me....ya right. I have about had it with this lack of support for a paid service. F*ck Spotify...if they don't care about me, and my sanity.
