Hey Alex!

Thanks for the answer, did everything in the guide, sti nothing. It’s not
showing up on my macbook either.

Sincerely

Hey @vipnick1337,

Thanks for the reply.

It might not be possible to retrieve the original playlist you've created in Offline mode and did not sync with your library on all devices.

Can you try going into Offline mode and creating a test playlist, to check if it will sync now after you've reinstalled your apps? This will help us make sure that this scenario doesn't happen again in the future.

Keep us posted.

Hey Alex,

Checked, seems that it's not an issue again. Is there any chance for me to
get the old playlist back though? 😞

Hi there @vipnick1337,

Thank you for your reply and confirmation.

Can you try the following to see if that helps:

  1. Log in to your account page.
  2. Click Recover playlists in the menu on the left.
  3. Click RESTORE by the playlist you want to recover.
  4. Open Spotify and find the restored playlist at the bottom of your playlist collection.

We'll keep an eye out  for your reply.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Hi,

I had the same issue some time ago but I only found this thread now.

For context, this is how I make playlists: I normally store my WHOLE library under my 'Liked Songs', and from there, I add them to the playlists I create. Once I'm sure of these changes, I remove them from my 'Liked'.

So back in mid October (can't recall the exact date but must have been somewhere between the 7th and the 10th), I made a lot of changes to my playlists (updated existing ones, created new ones, etc) while offline. As I explained above, I took several songs out of my 'Liked'. When I went back online, all the changes were reverted, playlists disappeared, etc... But all the songs I took out from my 'Liked' were not reverted - meaning I lost all those songs!

That's a big part of my library, and I'm pretty disappointed about this. I don't care about restoring the playlists I made, but I would really like to restore all those songs I took out from my 'Liked'. Is there a way for you to recreate my library around those dates?

I really need your help here.

Thank you!

PS. I unfortunately don't have access to the device I used anymore, but I can recall it was a Macbook Pro 2017 with macOS Big Sur installed (but I can't give you details on the app version, sorry). If it helps, here's my user number: 115331970

Thanks for your help Jeremy!

Unfortunately, it still did not help, no playlists there. Only the one I created to check the offline / online sync bug as requested above.

Sincerely,

Just a friendly reminder that the issue's still here

And that it pisses me off

Another friendly reminder, the issues still here for me too.

Hi folks,

Thanks for your replies and the info you've provided.

The right teams at Spotify are investigating this issue. We don't have official information on an exact timeframe for a fix.

We recommend keeping your app up-to date, not to miss any new releases.

Hey!

Sure!

Details:
Make: iPhone XS MAX
OS iOS 14.8.1 (checked on 17th Dec, not sure if it was exactly the same at the time I encountered this problem, might've been small update in between as I am on auto-update)
Spotify version: 8.6.84.1353 (same story about the version update as above, this is data from Dec 17th)

Let me know if there will be a possibility to retrieve the playlist!

Heck guys & girls,

We understand you're busy pushing crazy cool new features like lyrics and we appreciate it

But it's a life or death situation over here

Name one more critical issue than this one

Screenshot_20220127_094229_com.spotify.music.jpg

Currently if you create a playlist while listening offline, it will eventually just disappear. It isn't able to save to the Spotify servers and you won't be able to access it later on. I've been frustrated and confused by this for some time and never understood what was happening until chatting earlier today with Spotify support staff. Either they should find a way to store playlist information locally and upload later it when connected to the internet, or they should eliminate the ability to create playlists offline altogether. What's the point otherwise? It just generates confusion and what I always assumed was a glaring bug in the app.

Here to confirm that this is still an issue. If I'm in airplane mode and I make a new playlist or edit an existing one, that new playlist or edit will be erased when I turn off airplane mode and reconnect to the internet. I can be listening to my new playlist and looking at the track list, and the tracks will disappear before my eyes and spotify will tell me the playlist is empty.

Hi all, just chiming in to add that I just experienced this issue – lost 1.5 hours of work...

I was on Mac using the desktop app.

MacBook Pro MacOS Big Sur v11.6.4

Spotify for macOS (Intel)

Hey,

I think the board should be moved to 'Ongoing-Issues' instead of Android, for increased visibility and because it also affects iOS.

It confuses devs into thinking it's a small Android issue while it's a common flaw to all premium users on all platforms.

Right now, it's under https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android

The previous thread was under https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues and there are still people liking the closed one instead of this one

What do you think we should do ? I feel like opening a new issue board would just complicate things but can this existing board be moved ?

Hey devs and community managers,

I renew my proposal to have you contact me to ELI5 you the issue, but _gle-o70epvyo means the flaw is acknowledged.

It would be cool if you could communicate technically on the issue with us by answering the questions at the bottom

1. Are they people currently working to solve this issue ?

2. If yes, why is it so hard to solve ?

3. If not, why aren't you ?

3bis. If you aren't because you currently lack time, do you intend to solve it anytime soon when you're less busy ?

3ter. Is the deprecation of offline modifications intentional or is it an issue you'd like to be solved ?

We stayed on the boat for a year and will stay. Just relieve us of some incomprehension. Plus, you're also music lovers, you know how important this feature is

Thanks, bye, I look forward to see the answers

I love Spotify and I need this issue solved so bad

Solved maybe? I tested this twice in the last week on airplane rides and my playlist changes were NOT lost yay! So maybe this is solved? I am running Android 12 on an Galaxy S21

Not solved, a playlist just disappeared under my eyes right now

Awful

The problem for me is that I unliked all the songs thinking they were in the playlist!!! Does anyone know how to get unliked songs back?!?!
