Double and triple tap function in podcasts is broken

Booted today and Spotifys podcast controls no longer work with the double and triple tap on my earbuds. Previously they could skip forward or back 15 seconds, and now skip the entire track or bring it back to the beginning, which loses my places in a sometimes multi hour episode.

Occasionally when I try to fast forward by 15 seconds during a podcast, another podcast in my library is then played. The app still displays the original podcast and if I pause and then resume it usually goes back to the original podcast. Never had this issue with music, though I don't fast forward music often. It isn't starting another podcast at the beginning either; it picks up somewhere else... Perhaps at a similar minute count?

I have the same problem with playlists. triple tap returns to the beginning of the song and not to the previous song. With pixel buds pro and with nothing ear (2024) . When do they resolve?
