Downloaded songs don't show as downloaded

I have downloaded about 1,700 songs on my Galaxy s4. After much hardship, I finally got it to download to my SD card. However, sometimes the SD card likes to randomly unmount (because Galaxy is the bane of my existence when it comes to SD cards) and this prompts Spotify to start downloading my 1,700 songs again. But when I check the SD card's storage, it is showing that the songs are still there. Spotify shows them as greyed out and waiting to download as opposed to downloaded like I know they are. What the heck. I have to delete my cash, restart my phone, delete the folder on the SD card, and then wait the 4 hours again for my songs to download. This happens quite frequently and I am about to pull all my hair out if I have to do this again.
