Error logging into app

I am having an error message when opening the application. "Your current setting is offline. Stay online to connect to Spotify." Being that one of the options that are cancel or connect does not change the problem that persists. I can only resolve it by clearing all application data. That is, I lose all my saved music. Which is quite annoying, because as a Premium user I paid exactly to have this function, I request through this email to solve the problem in a next update. Because that makes me very disgusted with the service. Making me even think about looking for another streaming app.
