Hello,

I am having the same issue on a Samsung Galaxy Watch 5  Pro. I have reset my watch, re downloaded app. I do not have 10,000 items downloaded and I do not have 5 devices downloaded. This feature worked on my old Samsung watch 4 classic. With this upgrade, I am frustrated that one of my favorite features is not working.

Thanks for your help.

Hi folks,

Thanks for your inputs so far.

Are you able to consistently reproduce this behavior? If so, a short video which showcases it in action would be greatly appreciated. That way we can get a clear understanding of what's happening on your end.

If you're unable to insert the video in your reply here directly, you can instead upload it to a cloud service and provide the link to it.

Cheers!

I have a Galaxy watch 4 bluetooth variant, I'm unable to download the songs to my watch and the cellular downloads options is greyed out too. Earlier I used to download the playlist and listen them directly without need of phone. But now I miss that mostly during my workout sessions. I logged out from all devices and the devices logged in are my phone- samsung galaxy note9 and my watch- samsung galaxy watch 4. Still unable to download the songs to my watch and I'm disclosing the attachments here. When I try to download songs to my watch it shows as below..

Hey @KrishnaBharadwaj,

Thanks for your reply in this thread and for the info shared.

Can you share with us the exact Spotify version you have installed on your mobile device?

On another note, make sure your Galaxy watch is up-to-date. You can check this by following these steps:

  1. Swipe down from the main watch face.
  2. Tap the settings cog.
  3. Scroll down and hit Software update.
  4. Tap Download and install.

Lastly, is this happening if you change the internet connection you're using? is this happening over WiFi? 3G/4G? Both? Give it a try and let us know if changing the connection makes any difference.

We'll be on the lookout!

Hi @AlejaR,

Thanks for your reply, I'm sharing the details as you requested and the software version is the katest one on the watch. I'm sharing the Spotify versions of the mobile as well as watch. I tried as you mentioned but it shows the same greyed out option of cellular download and the download issue on bith mobile connection as well as on wifi, it doesn't make any difference on any connection.

Hey @KrishnaBharadwaj,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for all the info you've shared.

It looks like everything is up to date on your end. That means that the reason could be the number of devices you have with offline content. Keep in mind that only up to 5 devices are allowed to have offline content downloaded, if the Watch is the 6th one, it will no take action when you hit the download option.

To delete the downloads on other devices, you can follow the steps mentioned in this article under the section Undo downloads. This process needs to be done on the device you want to remove.

However, in case you don't have access to those previous devices, you can contact our Customer Support, so they can check your account and help you deleting the old downloaded content from previous devices.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Hey OscarDC,

Thanks for the reply it worked now I'm able to download content to my watch only on wifi connection after removing downloaded content from previous devices. I thought logging out of all devices would fix the issue but it didn't the downloaded content should be removed manually in previous devices. But still the cellular download option is greyed out and I'm unable to download the content using mobile cellular connection.

Exactly the same problem here.

/D

Hey @KrishnaBharadwaj,

Thanks for the reply.

It's possible that there are some carrier restrictions on mobile downloads. Could you try a different mobile data connection, e.g. a friend's?

@dankster11 Were you able to download content on the watch via WiFi as KrishnaBharadwaj? If yes, try a different mobile data connection as well.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

I just bought galaxy watch 4 and have the same issue.

You can try go to watch SETTINGS, then go APPS, and choose SPOTIFY then choose PERMISSIONS then allowed FILES AND MEDIA.

Hey folks,

Thank you for joining the conversation.

@Piherms, that's a good suggestion, thank you for the tip. We'd recommend to @dankster11 to try this and see if it makes any difference.

Also, could you confirm if you've already deleted the offline devices as mentioned before? This process has worked for some of the users and is worth it to give it a try.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Hi there. I just got my galaxy watch 5 pro a day ago and I've run into the same problem where my downloaded songs disappear and have to be redownload. My Spotify version is 8.8.8.548.

Hey @bboxwell4,

Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please let us know which of the above mentioned troubleshooting steps you've tried?

Cheers,

Just got galaxy watch 5 and downloaded music will not stay on watch tried everything but just downloads over and over again even though it states downloading complete each time.will be cancelling spotify as useless on watch

Yep, I'm getting exactly the same thing on my new Galaxy Watch 5. I download a few playlists - they then disappear and download over and over again. Good to see Spotify is still as dodgy as when I had my Galaxy Watch 3.

I just keep on getting skeleton loader for few seconds, sometimes it shows 1 playlist, 1 podcast. Sometimes, it doesn't load anything at all and fails completely. Please fix the offline experience on GW4.

Hey I have the same problem with offline playback
There seems to be an issue with offline playback on the Spotify App for Wear OS 4 running on the Galaxy Watch. I'm on a Spotify Pro subscription plan.

I can download songs, albums & playlists to my Galaxy Watch from the app itself. Once the playlist is downloaded I connect a set of wireless earbuds to my watch and try to initiate playback (while disconnected from my phone & no WiFi) on my watch but nothing happens.
If I reconnect my watch to my phone by coming close to bluetooth range the playback will now start working.
I also tried un-installing the Spotify App from my watch and reinstalling & downloading albums to Spotify on my watch again but the problem persists.
I also tried using offline playback with the YouTube Music App on Wear OS 4 on the same Galaxy Watch and it DOES WORK perfectly.

Seems there's a Bug on the Spotify App for Wear OS 3/4.

Galaxy Watch 6. SW version R940XXU1AWH4
Wear OS 4.0
Spotify App v.8.8.80.598
Play Services v. 23.42.12

Exactly the same here. It was all good until an update around 3 months ago (writing this as of 24/04/2024).

Incredibly annoying!! What's the point of needing to have the phone with you to listen to Spotify on your watch?? Absolute nonsense.
