I am using Spotify Premium and I get ads. What is the reason of this?
There's no payment interruption, I am using desktop app on Windows 11 and I live in Turkey.
I wanted to listen to rain sounds with thunder, and I know it's built into my computer but still. I just looove Spotify.
well, I did, but now there are ADS. why bother paying for Spotify if you're just going to show me ads anyway.
Whoa, seriously? And even loading dynamically moving the layout of my home screen around as I'm trying to use it?
I also have a problem with an advertisement appearing on the homepage, pushing everything else down. It keeps opening everytime I visit the homepage even when hitting "not interested". And I am paying for Premium. Not even podcast related (I don't care about podcasts, only here for the music), as it happens only on the homepage so far. Please remove it or remove ALL ADS FOR PREMIUM USERS permanently, this is getting ridiculous.
Why commercials on playlists?
Podcasters choosing to advertise something is not something spotify can do.
HOWEVER, Spotify is on the wrong here for showing advertisements in people's homepages about new releases, even though the relevant option is switched off.
I have the same issue, and the moderators replying only to the people complaining about podcasters advertising stuff know very well what they are doing. They didn't do anything wrong there. They are NOT addressing the real issue that highlights the greediness of this corporation. Showing banner ads in premium users homepages, repeatedly, even after choosing "not interested" is the real issue here. What are they gonna say, "Were sorry?" Of course they wouldn't reply. They are making money off this twisted scheme.
I have the same issue and lately it gotten 100 times worse. Every day ad banners on ad banners, banners I have selected I am not interested in. I have said I don't want new releases announcements.
If this is not fixed, or AT LEAST addressed as an ongoing issue by a moderator, I am cancelling my subscription. It has worsen my experience as a user WHO PAYS FOR NOT SEEING ADS by a lot. It is making me sick. Address this.
Some podcasts do have advertising in their own content, usually related to podcast itself or sponsors, but this is different. Podcast ends and some short stupid ad inserted by spotify advertising some random product, in a different language than the podcast itself. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF SPOTIFY OWN COMPROMISE TO SHOW AD-FREE CONTENT TO PAYING USERS.
I WILL CANCEL SPOTIFY PREMIUM AND LEAVING SPOTIFY FOR GOOD, AS IT IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY ANYMORE, UNLESS THIS CHANGES IN A VERY SHORT TERM.
SHAME ON YOU
Over two years later and these cockbags are STILL showing ads to the one and only type of customer who will be one angry when they see them, and will never, ever, in a million years, buy what you're selling out of simple spite. Stop doing this. Stop acting like restards.

My Question or Issue
I just started getting ads before I play certain tracks for anxiety relief. I pay for premium so this should not be happening. It is making my anxiety worse.

My Question or Issue
I sometimes get ads in the Android app, despite my premium subscription. It is only the visual full screen banner type, the annoying kind that you cannot click away until X seconds. All other reports I find online, are about audio ads in between music, which I am not getting, hence this new thread.
The ad seems to appear only shortly after opening the app for the first time of the day, so far as I have noticed til now. (I do turn off my phone every night).
This issue has started since I switched to my new phone. I didn't have any issues before on my old phone (which was Android 11) .
I have tried clearing app cache, logging out/in, and reinstalling the app, all to no avail...
The help article mentions various things about account type and payments etc. But those are all not applicable (and if they were, I'd be getting audio ads too, which I'm not).
So this seems like a bug to me... anything I can still try to get rid of this ad banner?
Yes THIS - ugh, I'm a premium subscriber and my playlists are now all interrupted by ADs and I HATE IT. I will quit Spotify if I can't find a way to make this stop. I feel like it just started this week, I was all "wait.....wth!?"- I tried logging out and logging back in but it didn't fix it.
You greedy monsters!!! I am a PAYING member, why do I have now to see the damn SKY NEWS in the middle of my playlists?? It's not even an ads, it's a damn news about hot weather.
Either you fix this annoying thing or I'll promptly switch to the FREE version of spotify, and you know what I mean! 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
For me is not even artists ads, this is what I got trying to play a podcast. I do hope it is a bug, and that will be fixed soon, I am growing very impatient with this invasive ads dystopia of platforms, even when we pay (TO NOT GET ADS). And I mean it, I am ready to cancel the subscription.
