I'm getting this issue on my Motorola Moto E too, none of the suggestions I have read has worked.
It would help if you could detail what you tried but can you just post the free space shown for internal storage and external SD card.
I have tried:
My SD card is blank and 16GB, my internal card is half full and only 4GB.
Thanks for any help.
@jwylot has linked above to the solution he tried, and it worked for me. In summary:
1. Clear cache;
2. Uninstall app;
3. Delete Spotify folder from phone via computer;
4. Reformat SD card; and
5. Reinstall app.
Looks like you may have skipped formatting the card @elgdav123 . That may be the missing step.
Amazing @jwylot, this appears to be the issue, thanks so much.
I'm fairly sure I hadn't seen that step detailed but nevermind.
Thanks again!
I'm glad it worked for you too 🙂
Interestingly there is a misleading visualization in the Android Storage screen. There is a graph displayed which should give and indication of internal storage usage based on the levels used in Apps, Pictures, Music etc. The Apps value is (probably incorrectly) including data stored in the SD card and so the graph of internal usage is incorrect. Mine currently looks like I have overfilled my internal storage, when in fact I have 1.75GB free.
I've seen this mentioned before. The visualisation on my Note 3 is fine so I wonder if android gets confused on phones which also have an "internal SD card"?
Hi I have the international version of HTC One M8 and I do not have Spotify on the Phone. I have a class 10 64 GB sd card if I follow this procedure minus removing the cache and mounting the card before I start will it work on this version of my phone. Thanks Altstart
Yes, it should be fine 🙂
Yes it did work but to access my music seems to be impossible useing Spotify. I have not used this app before and I have no objection paying for the premium edition but I need to know the App will let me access the files in the format that they were saved in ie albums. At the moment the only access is via the phone player and this presents the individual tracks in alphabetical order with no album deliniation just a mess.
Thanks for the help
The adding of local files (music you own) hasn/t been incorporated in Your Music yet. You can add them but it gets very messy. Put your local files in playlists for now and synch those to your phone or, do as I do and use another music player for your MP3s until they have made it possible to add them to Your Music.
Instructions on how to synch local files are here If you wish to discuss this more, could you start a new thread as this is somewhat off-topic?.
