How to turn off Shuffle mode as default for Google Clock and Android Auto integrations

My Question or Issue

I am on a Premium subscription and I don't understand why Google Clock keeps playing my selected playlist in Shuffle Mode. Even after I dismiss the alarm, my Spotify is still in Shuffle mode and I have to keep turning it off. Also when I ask Google Assistant to play songs from any playlist, it always plays in Shuffle mode 😞  Please help!

Why is this STILL an issue? I've found it's not just the alarms that decide to globally turn shuffle on, but at least this instance it's definitely the cause.

I don't understand what Spotify's obsession with the Shuffle feature being on by default, but it's absurd that they've yet to provide a "Shuffle off by default" option that applies to all playlists and which actually sticks!

My workaround for this issue is that for songs which I want as alarms, I'm just getting the MP3 and using that instead of Spotify. 

I'm just baffled it's been like this for so long with no action.
